Great things ahead, but not for the public yet!

Sascha Selke is currently working on the final score for “The Orange Paper” (Working Title).
2–3 minutes of new music are written and mocked-up every day, but due to copyright reasons we cannot put them on the website until the movie is out.

Some other, smaller projects, though, are also in the pipeline, and we will soon put some new music up, so you can get an impression of what's going on right now.

So stay tuned!

A Hollywood-based production company has just issued a request for orchestral demo cues for their upcoming war movie.
Sascha Selke took this as an opportunity to grab a pencil-and-paper sketch for a symphonic cue that had been resting on his piano for months, and turn it into a full-blown, epic orchestral mockup, ready for submission.

Have fun listening to the new piece at

When London-based film maker Tara Garner asked Sascha Selke to score her new short film “When it’s over”, he didn’t hesitate long. The eerie athmosphere of the film is mirrored in the score by the use of such unearthly sounds like that of the glass harmonica and heavily processed flutes, among others.

As the film is now entering 3 short film festivals in the UK, an excerpt of the score is available for listening on

When Sascha Selke was hired to write the film music for the drama “The Orange Paper” (working title), he began by composing a suite for piano solo, which already comprised all the themes of the film music that was to be written later. Some of the movements from the piano suite even made it into the final movie.

On the occasion of the film being presented at this year’s film fairs, the iTunes Music Store has just released the album “The Orange Paper Suite” on iTunes

To get a taste of the album, you can listen to one complete track at:

Sascha Selke’s movie soundtrack itself will be available through the iTunes Music Store as soon as the film hits the theatres.

Sascha Selke’s ambient music concept “Harmonices Terrae” for Rogner Bad Blumau

In 2005, Rogner Bad Blumau, the biggest inhabitable piece of art by Friedensreich Hundertwasser, called for an artistically adequate music concept. So Sascha Selke developed his “Harmonices Terrae” (“Harmony of the Earth”), paying tribute to the “Harmony of the World” (Harmonices Mundi) by the great philosopher and astronomer Johannes Kepler: By measuring the area, he analysed the “inner harmonies” of the architecture, the landscape and the geomantic centres and translated them into audible sound. So, under his baton, Rogner Bad Blumau musically composed itself.
Since early summer 2006, the music of Harmonices Terrae can be heard in Blumau and contributes to the artistic experience of the location.

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Rogner Bad Blumau, Sascha Selke will be on location for a discussion of his music concept with Robert Rogner Junior and Johannes Czeitschner (Sales & Marketing Direktor) on May 12, 2007.

Sascha Selke orchestrates "After this our Exile" in Hong Kong

In early January 2007, Sascha Selke was contracted to orchestrate Hong Kong based composer Robert Ellis-Geiger’s score for “After this our Exile”.
The music, which so far existed only as a computer generated mockup for piano, violin and cello, was recorded in Sascha Selke’s version for full 86-piece orchestra in a scoring session with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra on February 20-22, 2007. Composer and orchestrator were both present in Hong Kong for this event.
A thorough documentary of the scoring session is in preparationa and will soon be available on http://musicsound.net
